Capturing

On Friday I captured the footage that I shot the day before, overall it looks Ok, as I had already worried about me carrying the camera over the bridge wasn't my greatest ideas as it is very shaky but the zoom idea does look better but only time will tell when I play with it in finalcut however that maybe a week until I can get around to doing the due to the holidays. On that note, it maybe several days before I can post anything.

Filming

I went out and finally did some filming today. After waiting for a day where the weather wasn't constant rain I couldn't wait any longer and with a weather forecast of heavy snow I thought that I may as well take my chances and thankfully snow was the word that I got. I went out with a very solid idea in my head and that just being walking over a bridge but in post production I would edit the footage and try and make it a never ending bridge. And, that 's exactly what I did until I decided to try a second way, the problem with just walking over a bridge is that the camera shake was something that could become problematic so I decided to experiment with a different way. What I decided to do was extremely basic but should hopefully work, all I did was stand at one end of the bridge and zoom in to the end, very simple but when I like the footage together it would hope that it'll look pretty good. I'll get all the footage onto digital tomorrow and then will edit over the Christmas holidays. I will use both styles to show experimentation but I can imagine that style will be stronger then other.

Push forward

After my tutorial with Greg and Laura I know know what and where I want to try and push this project onto. As hoped, the Polaroid and the bridge world went down well, and both have been said they have potential. On the Polaroid idea, the only criticism was that some of the pictures weren't crystal clear and could so with some improvement when it comes to look of the picture but that's a good point as only about half the pictures where neat and tidy. However, I've been recommended to go talk to Andy the dark-room technician and ask him to give me some help so hopefully I'll be able to get some stronger pictures together shortly. The bridge world idea is not just something that I need to experiment with a lot more, but if I'm going home over christmas then I'll be able to go out in Ware to get some more bridges and experiment with those which is good.

Polaroid idea

Sorry it's been over week since my last blog however I have been having to work on other projects and have been spending several days in the dark room procession my medium format work which is now to see.

So following that, I've successfully done some medium format work, I'm a confidant photographer but wouldn't say that I'm confidant enough enough to shoot totally manual but I'm glad to say that they have come out very well. The reason why I wanted to do medium format is due to them being a lot more squarer which is going to be a lot more useful for creating a kind of Polaroid style picture.






I am pretty happy with the outcome but I'm still going to experiment with window mounting idea to see what they look like, however It will take me a few days to get around to doing it, I've got a busy couple of weeks coming so I'll slightly be struggling for time but I'll try my best to find a few hours to try it.
